Pink Bunny in the Alps

Pink Bunny in the Alps

A 55 meter tall knitted rabbit is part of an art installation on Colletto Fava (1.500m, near Genova), above the Village of Artesina in Piemonte, Italy.

The artists Gelitin took 5 years to hand-sew the pink bunny, and they state it will be on display for the next 20 years. To give you perspective of the rabbit’s actual size, see how tiny the people sleeping on the rabbit look after the jump.

Notes from Gelitin:

"After almost 5 years of knitting the rabbit found its final place in the italian alps (close to Cuneo). It waits there to be visited by you. You might even take your time or check back every now and then as the rabbit will wait for you 20 years from now on."

The designers poetically offer, "behind a hill, as if knitted by giant grandmothers, lies this vast rabbit, to make you feel as small as a daisy."
