The sound of the earth is a spherical record, the grooves representing the outlines of the geographic land mass.

Each country on the disc is engraved with a different sound, as the needle passes over, it plays field recordings collected by Yuri Suzuki from around the world over the course of four years; traditional folk music, national anthems, popular music and spoken word broadcasts.

Google has just launched the amazing Chrome Web Lab, a collaborative project based in the Science Museum in London.

It brings the magic of the internet into the physical world through five experiments, open to everyone online, but also live in the Science Museum, London.

The Lab for Electronic Arts and Performance (Berlin) presents Coded Landscapes: an exhibition featuring work by New York-based artist Charlotte Becket and Berlin based Andreas Nicolas Fischer.

ReFunct Media is a multimedia installation that (re)uses numerous “obsolete” electronic devices (digital and analogue media players and receivers). These devices are hacked, misused and combined into a large and complex chain of elements. To use an ecological analogy they “interact” in different symbiotic relationships such as mutualism, parasitism and commensalism.

A record player by Bartholomäus Traubeck that plays slices of wood. Fantastic idea and the acoustic output is amazing.

"Desire of Codes" by Seiko Mikami is an interactive installation composed of 3 pieces,  currently set up in YCAM - Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media. It reflects the current society of what I think, and presents desires growing in the society of information systems.

Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto has created 'Crazy hyperculture in the vertigo of the world', developed for installation at Faena Arts Center, in Buenos Aires.
